Confronted by the request to provide waiting lounge seating in the headquarters lobby of the fashion company Escada for 3 to 4 groups of 1 to 6 people, in order to avoid transforming the lobby into a furniture showroom filled with low tables and 24 chairs we decided conversely to design a singular furniture piece to accommodate all the waiting area needs and assure the lobby’s architectural simplicity coherent with the brand’s image. In front of the glazed entry façade overlooking the car pick-up area, we positioned the long rectangular stretch-limousine proportioned furniture piece. The different seating areas are carved out of a massive 3 by 12 meter horizontal seating cushion is made of a zig-zag shaped moulded foam covered in stitched matt black leather and topped with a meandering serpentine backrest.
