Nestled in the upper floor of the Kobe Japan flagship store is the luxurious VIP room designed by Eric Carlson for Louis Vuitton. Within the space, the walls, floor and furniture are sheathed in cream-colored leather. Placed in the walls, behind a floor-to-ceiling veil of suspended micro-cubes, inspired by the LV Damier pattern, are a series of wenge wood niches that enigmatically present custom designed articles. Each 8mm cube is nickel plated, engraved with the “LV” Logo and washed with artificial light.
