The buildings exterior was conceived as grouping of stacked boxes following the metaphor of a pile of Louis Vuitton trunks. To respect and to work in concert with the exterior design, Eric Carlson’s design the building’s interior with the ingenious creation of staggered stacking double-height volumes that allows for visitors the ease of climbing up only one level, but always being within a double height space. The spatial staggering of volumes also allows customers to be guided upwards through the 7-story building with a constant visibility of where they’ve been and where they are going. Each volume was then developed with a distinct architectural design corresponding with the different product categories.
