The watch brand TAG Heuer commissioned CARBONDALE to design a table for the VIP rooms within their stores. Their seemingly contradictory program requested a small unobstructed table top, but with a magnification lens, a mirror, a computer, a touch screen, a lamp and a clock. Responding to TAG Heuer expertise in movements for Swiss watchmaking, CARBONDALE conceived the “Swiss Knife Table” as a mechanized surface that houses, in a similar manner as the famous “Swiss Knife”, the various tools required for examining and adjusting watches.
